My hobby is playing basketball. I started to play basketball when I was 12 years old. After school, I would stay on the playground and play basketball with some friends of mine until it was dark. I am busy at work during the week so I don’t often play it, when there are some holidays for me to have a rest. I will find some old friends to go to the gym together to play basketball for 3 to 4 hours there. I will feel very happy and relaxed. This exercise is quitebeneficial to me, because I am very, very strong now. Three meal for day. It isnecessary for us to take breakfast well, because it is very important to take so. Once you have fresh spirit so that you could do everything in great effort and vigor. The lunch is seem to play the same role with the breakfast, attention it must take enough for the afternoon you have to work hard. This afternoon I went to play basketball with some of my good friends happily.
At the very beginning, I didn‘t want to go playing basketball though my friends invited me to. I was (had been) in a bad mood the whole afternoon because I didn‘t do well in the math exam. With their comfort and encouragement, I went with them. However, I was just one of the audience. I dare not have a try because I was afraid that I couldn‘t play well. Encouraged by my good friends, I picked up the basketball and played with them. And luckily I got scores. I felt very excited.
Now I have become cheerful and above all I‘ve regained self-confidence. I believe that the worst enemy in one‘s life is oneself. I shouldn‘t lose heart just because of one or two failures because I still have chances to try.

The Lantern Festival or Yuanxiao Jie is a traditional Chinese festival, which is on the 15th of the first month of the Chinese New Year. The festival marks the end of the celebrations of the Chinese New Year.
Chinese started to celebrate the Lantern Festival from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 221 AD).
Like most other Chinese festivals, there is also a story behind the Festival. It is also believed that the festival has Taoist origins.
This is a festival for people having fun. On the night of the festival, people go on streets with a variety of lanterns under the full moon, watching lions or dragon dancing, playing Chinese riddles and games, and lighting up firecrackers. There is really a lot of fun for the young and the old.
Yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) or Tangyuan is the special food for the Lantern Festival. It is believed that Yuanxiao is named after a palace maid, Yuanxiao, of Emperor Wu Di of the Han Dynasty.
Yuanxiao is a kind of sweet dumpling, which is made with sticky rice flour filled with sweet stuffing.
Yuanxiao is sticky, sweet and round in shape, symbolizing family unity, completeness and happiness.

On hearing the good news that the famous singer Zhou Huajian would come to my hometown to give a performance, I telephoned toplace an order for 5 tickets withtout delay,because I like his songs very much. In fact, I like all of his songs. Every day I was looking forward tohis performance. Finally the day came. We went there by car with excite-ment because we would hear him singing face to face for the first time.We reached the gym early so that we could have very good seats. At 19:30 the concert began. All song lovers present got excited at the moment he appeared. Suddenly all the people present began to sing with him to the music. In the course of the concert,he occasionally joked,full of hu-mour.
We all got mad when he sang his latest songs. At last we sang his old songs together. The concert was wonderful and gained a great suc-cess.
After we came back home,we kept talking about the concert and found it hard to get to sleep.

It was Saturday， just before May Day. My classmates and I went to the park nearby， we didn't go there for amusement but took part in voluntary labor.
We got there at 9：00. We were pided into three groups and then began working. The students in Group One planted trees and watered flowers. The task for Group Two was collecting the litter left about by tourists and cleaning the benches. The group I was in got to the Children's Play ground and wiped all the equipment clean. We worked very hard. At 11：00， when all the work was finished up， all my classmates met again. Although everyone was in a sweat， yet we felt happy because we had done good job.

今天是星期六，是在五一劳动节之前。我和我的同学去附近的公园，我们不是去那里娱乐，而是去参加义务劳动。
